Charge 5 is not tracking my heart rate while on an elliptical

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It seems like my charge 5 will lose my heart rate for minutes at a time while on an elliptical. It's annoying because I'm trying to aim for those zone points but it doesn't seem to do any sort of averaging when it loses those beats.

Anyone have any tips or tricks to keep it tracking heart rate consistently?

Thanks.

Hi, @c1alla, welcome to the community, you may find this article How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? - Fitbit Help Center is helpful. There are two sections at the end in particular.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

Hi there, @c1alla. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is not tracking your heart rate while on an elliptical. I understand how you must be feeling as this data is very important to you. We're here to help!

If the issue persists after following @Gr4ndp4's recommendations, please I'd suggest resetting the heart rate settings by following the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Charge 5, from the main screen of your Fitbit device, open the Settings app > Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting OFF.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Charge 5. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Fitbit device's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Charge 5 once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Charge 5.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible). We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.
