Charge 5 is not tracking my sleep data

I've been watching my sleep data over the last few days because I have an infection. Today's data is not showing (it's 12:03 pm). If I Edit Sleep it says there's no data. If I try to enter a new sleep pattern, it says there is already sleep data recorded for the period of interest, which is 8:30 pm yesterday to 7:30 am today.

Hello @Richard5

I'm wondering if there was an issue on the Fitbit side since I also didn't get sleep data on Tuesday morning (30 Dec 2024). Like you, I tried to edit my sleep log and kept getting the message that there was already a log for that time, even though I had deleted the sleep log.

Have you gotten your sleep data since then?

Hello @Richard5

Thank you for letting us know that you still aren't seeing sleep data.

By any chance, are you having issues with heart rate tracking? Do you see a green light on the back of your Charge 5? The green light is your heart rate sensor. You can check by placing your finger across the back. You should see the green light when you lift your finger.

If you don't see the green light, the first place to check is the Settings tile on the Charge 5 and confirm Heart rate is turned on

  • Swipe down from the clock face until you get to the Settings tile (last one) and tap on it
  • Swipe up until you see Heart rate and confirm that it's turned on. If it's not, tap on it to enable it

The heart rate data is captured and the green LED flashes when I remove the watch. I've been observing the heart rate data, instantaneous and resting, during my recent illness.

Hello @Richard5

Thanks for letting us know that your heart rate sensor is working and you're seeing heart rate data. So, we know that's not the issue.

One other thing you can try is wearing your Charge 5 on the inside of your wrist at night. Some users have reported that they got sleep data when they moved to wearing their device on the inside of their wrist.

I'll try that and report back.

I didn't try adjusting Fitbit position because it occurred to me that sleep data was only missing for one day and it has worked correctly out then.
