My new Fitbit Charge 5 is tracking steps  incorrectly. I’ve done more than it indicates.

Hi, welcome to the Community forums, @Mamfy

Thank you for all the information provided about what you've been experiencing with your Charge 5.

Before considering other options, could you please provide a few extra details? Let me know what is the type of activity that you were doing, if this happens often and if it happens with other activities or workouts as well.

In the meantime, please follow the steps listed here below to complete a restart procedure using the charging cable:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

Many thanks for your prompt response Davide. I think I’ve sorted it, I uninstalled everything, turned off Bluetooth, restarted my Fitbit then put everything back on again and it seems to have rectified it. Could it have been due to the fact that my battery was so low? It was only 22% at the time. Anyway, all seems good thank you.

@Mamfy That's great news! Thank you for sharing this update.

Yes, a low battery can affect actually some of the features, particularly GPS tracking and other functions. It's recommended to have at least 25% battery level for optical performance.

Have a great day.
