Charge 5 is unresponsive

My Charge 5 is 14 months old, and today it stopped working. Initially it only had the Fitbit logo, but after following advice on here, I did a reset via the charger and now the screen is blank completely. After reading other posts, I have so far:

Turned Bluetooth off, unpaired it from my phone, forgotten it in the app, turned my phone off and back on again, turned Bluetooth on. My phone will no longer recognise the device in my settings. I have deleted and reinstalled the app on my iPhone, it still won’t allow me to add it back into the Fitbit app or pair via Bluetooth. I’ve done a reset via the charger multiple times - no luck. Cleaned the contacts on the back - still nothing. 
I have had multiple Fitbits over the years and none have lasted much longer than 12 months- either the band connections have totally broken, meaning I can’t even connect a new band, or the device itself has died. I only kept buying Fitbits because my kids and other family have them, but since google took over, the challenges with friends are gone and I have no reason to keep buying a new one. 
I think an Apple Watch would be better.

Exactly same, fourth annual crash, last synced 2.20am UK time. Got my new Charge 5 in May last year.

Good luck. I had the same issue. After contacting the support, they sent me a message that "I noticed that you already got a resolution from our team. Have a nice day".

Of course, i did NOT receive any reaction at all, and tried every possible solution multiple times. It is 15 months old.

And the reseller refers to fitbit, so nothing from their side either...

So for us no fitbit anymore.

Just returned mine to Amazon with full refund, no more fitbit for me

Mine too. Looks like a widespread issue. Will report in the hope they can see the update has caused terminal issues

I gave up on my charge 5. I purchased a 6, but it will be my last Fitbit when it dies. Not going through the hoops.

How do u log a ticket with the support team. Seems all that comes up for me is a chat. I don’t want to chat I want my Fitbit fixed.

I never went that far. After seeing all the other folks with the same problem, with newer units, I threw in the towel
