Charge 5 keeps dying every day

My Charge 5 appears to have died yesterday evening. 

Screen black (tried all of the usual solutions, apart from change clock face, because I don't know how you get there from the app, I can't find that anywhere...)

Is there a problem at the moment, maybe a firmware update killed them? Because every time I've been on this forum it says you're experiencing a lot of traffic at the moment? Or is that normal?

Or is it just that these things tend to die after a year or so? Seems like there a lot of comments that say so. Mine is 18 months old, so apparently I must have done quite well?

It's extremely disappointing if so.

You did the three button press on charging cable?

Yes.

It died according to the app with 53% battery

Tried to charge it anyway using a charger and also just usb plugged into a laptop

Tried to sync anyway which doesn't work

Also read about trying to change the clock face via the app but J could find this in the app where it read it should be
