Charge 5 losing steps

I have been aiming to do 15,000 steps average per day this year and have been measuring this on a monthly basis. In January, February and March 2024, my monthly average was showing over 15,000 steps, then in September I noticed that those same months had decreased the average to less 15,000 steps so I took a screenshot at that point. I have checked this month (Nov) and it has decreased my average even more for those same months which has now brought my yearly average below 15,000 steps. Why does it keep reducing my steps from earlier in the year?

Hi @Louise_M. Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I can imagine how demotivating it may be to see your stats from previous months being reduced.

We experienced an issue on the Fitbit app that prevented users from seeing accurate historical data. This issue should have been resolved with the latest Fitbit app update.

This being said, i recommend making sure your Fitbit app is up to date. Depending on the operating system your mobile runs, you can follow instructions from our help article How do I use the Fitbit app? to do so.

I expect this suggestion will help you to get back on track!

Thanks for your response @DavidFitbit I already made sure I was on the latest version of App (4.30) before posting my original post so unfortunately this is not the cause of the steps being reduced but thanks for your response.

I'm having the same problem. Yesterday I had 1,250 miles for the year.  Today I checked and it showed 1,255 miles by then chsnged to only 990.

Also have the latest updates. I even cleared the cache and data but still the same.

Same here. I cleared cache and data too but I can't get my original stats back. It's very frustrating isn't it.

Hello @DavidFitbit

I'm seeing users report in the Android app forum that they aren't able to see their historical weight data. Not sure if this is related to the same issue affecting the step count historical data.

There's also this post in the Android app forum where the user is reporting that their historical exercise data is disappearing from the app.
