Charge 5 lost my data after syncing

I had about 1700 calories and around 8000 steps recorded on my Charge 5 when I synced it with my iPhone but immediately after the sync, the calories and steps display on my fitbit lowered to 1000 each. I re-synced it and it is also displaying 1000 calories and steps on my phone instead of the previous 1700 calories and 8000 steps. Not sure why this happened. I have force quit the fitbit app and reopened it, restarted my fitbit, re-synced multiple times, and it is still not fixed. Why was my data lost and reset to something different? Is there anyway to recover it?

Hi there, @Abiu. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about your lost data, I understand how you must be feeling about this. I appreciate you've taken the time to troubleshoot this issue before posting here, I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

When was the last time sync of your Charge 5 before performing all troubleshooting steps you've mentioned? While reading your post, it seems like your Charge 5 was not able to sync lately (I mean, not just today that you posted here, but previous days).

If the above describes your situation, that would explain the issue you're having now. Please note that it's an expected behavior if your Fitbit device hasn't synced for a long period of time. Going a bit deeper into this, note that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

My best advice for these instances is to make sure that your Charge 5 is syncing periodically or at least, once a day. If by any chance you have been experiencing syncing difficulties, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Nevertheless, if you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. For more information, see How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi Maria, the last time I've synced my fitbit is either yesterday or the the day before yesterday. Checking the history of my daily calories, steps, and heart rate, it seems that the data that was recorded before noon (12:10pm to be exact) Nov 1 has been wiped after the aforementioned sync. There is no data recorded for my heart rate, steps, calories, and distance between Oct 31, 9am to Nov 1, 12:10pm. However, I was wearing my fitbit this whole time and I can confirm that it was displaying the correct data when I checked it throughout the day yesterday and today. The sleep profile data for the night from Oct 31 to Nov 1 is present and recorded in my phone so I definitely had the fitbit on when I slept. It is only data like calories, heart rate, steps, and distance that have been wiped during the sync.

I have a similar problem. Latest version ios and iphone12. Charge 5 stopped recording sleep last night at  0200 and that was not because I woke up. Battery was  medium so no isdues there.
The Charge 5 Counted steps today but has since lost the total. I have not tried to reset anything as yet  as only just happened. My phone app was very slow at syncing with the device. The Charge 5 was showing the correct figure (about 5,500) but the phone kept saying 15 steps. Now the Charge 5 says only 15!!!

What is happening?
