  • My fitbit 5 is no longer recording sleep data, it is not showing in the app. This has been fine up until 3 days ago! All other data seems to record.

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Hi @Djr1. Welcome to the community forums.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding Charge 5. Sorry to know that you are not having sleep data.

I'd recommend you to update the Fitbit app. Keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you haven't done so already, please try to complete a restart procedure following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

In addition, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app, tapping on the "+" icon next to the sleep tile > Add Sleep Log and entering your details.

when I woke up this morning, my fitbit did not sync any sleep data.  Then the first hour of my active hours did not sync.  My Fitbit shows I completed 9 of 9 hours but the app only shows 8 of 9.  I have a Charge 5 and have restarted the Fitbit, turned my Bluetooth off and back on and reconnected the Fitbit.  Turned iPhone off and back on and it has not been able to recover any of the missing data.  Very frustrating when this happens because it appears to be on Fitbits end and takes a day or two to be corrected because this scenario happens periodically without warning.  Has been worse since becoming part of Google.

My firmware is up to date. After trying every published solution, I tried clearing the cache, closing the app on my phone, and restarting the phone. Last night I got sleep data for the first time in weeks.!!!!! YEA!!!
