Charge 5 non-stop vibrating

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 suddenly started vibrating non-stop. The screen has been black and non-responsive for weeks now (although very randomly when I went abroad to the UK it seemed to work?). I still get updates from the app, so data collection is still occurring. But it is useless as a watch. I am in the habit of doing a hard restart every couple days when I charge it, as hope springs eternal that Fitbit will fix whatever has been broken. I see today there is an update to be installed, but the app stopped ‘finding’ my Charge 5 when it started its vibrating nonsense. I have tried deleting the Charge 5, and now the app can’t seem to find it either. So now it seems to truly be useless.

Hi, @NicoleChris, welcome to the community, a Factory reset may not be the best way forward as you have to re-pair each time & delete all your data. I suggest you reset your Charge 5 as demonstrated in this video How to Restart Fitbit Charge 5 (Reboot / Soft Reset) - YouTube As you have a setup problem at the moment you might find this video helpful Fitbit Charge 5 Unboxing and Setup (Lunar White / Soft Gold) - YouTube remember the app has changed a bit since the video was made but the principle remains the same. If you are travelling a lot you should note you do need an internet connection for data on your phone to be fully functional. Try changing the clock screen via the Fitbit app on your phone, this may resolve the blacked-out screen. If you are still stuck try deleting & reloading the Fitbit app, you do not mention the make or model of your phone, you should note Fitbit Supported Devices .

In the Fitbit app on your phone go to the app tray>Fitbit>clear cache>force stop>uninstall>restart phone>reload Fitbit app>set up again.

Let us know how you get on by posting here again.

Cheers
