Well I had heard in the forums that Charge5s were getting bricked by fitbit. I'm convinced they do this on purpose. So when i bought the Charge 5 in 10/2022, I bought the extended warranty. I was convinced that these devices get bricked after warranty period usually so I bought the extra year. They did this with the previous fitbits I had.
My Charge5 just all of sudden stopped syncing my data, I was doing yard work. No physical damage occurred. It just stopped sending signal to my app. So I followed all the restart instructions and all the info about unpair, force stop app, restart phone ----blah blah. honestly it shouldnt be that difficult.
I've had enough of fitbit and this nonsense. I have so much data that I hate to lose but I'm over it. I had to file a claim with the fitbit protection plan (thru Allstate Square), so now I have to wait to see what they decide. I had to pay a deductible even though i paid for the extra plan. They will either send me a new or refurbished charge 5 which I doubt it will last regardless if they send a new one or not. After this one goes I am never buying another fitibit. I'm only going to see what they send because I had the extended warranty.
