Charge 5 not restarting

The display of my Charge 5 does no longer react when I tip with the finger. I have tried to restart my watch and got to see the logo and the full batterie, but right afterwards the screen turns black and does not react anymore. I tried the proceedure of restarting several times but got always same outcome. Is there another option to restart Charge 5 then using the cable and pressing the buton 3 times? Thanks for your support…

Check if you are in Sleep Mode, intentionally preventing display from coming on with screen tap.

My mistake.  Sleep Mode would not explain this; screen tap would still turn on display, just in dim mode.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Let‘s assume it is in a sleep mode. How can I turn it off without being able use the screen? It is black and does not react to tapping at all.

My mistake. Sleep Mode would not explain it. I guess I was thinking of another model with a side button to push.  Even in Sleep Mode, tapping should wake the display, though in in less bright mode.
