My HR Charge appears to be measuring the distance daily and accurately. When I go to the TODAY screen, it shows how many miles I’ve walked.

However, when I click on the EXERCISE module to look at the dashboard of stats and I swipe the top of the page right to left, the distance page is never right. It shows zero miles most days. It tracks duration, minutes in heart rate zones, and calories burned every day as I swipe right to left in the exercise module. But the distance page is zero for most days.

Again, on the TODAY screens, the distance walked is shown and appears accurate. It’s only the EXERCISE module with the different dashboards that’s not working.

Any suggestions?

@Schneidogg   You must use the Exercise app with an appropriate shortcut to see distance in that screen.  Activity that gets recorded by SmartTrack (the auto recognition feature) doesn't include distance in the details.  Fitbit never gave an explanation for this, but I have a theory.  SmartTrack can record the wrong activity and it would take a monumental amount of code to correct the distance in order to fix every possible combination of incorrect to correct.  I'm taking a bit of a leap here.  Your lawn mowing shows the Run icon.  It looks like that was tracked with SmartTrack.  You can change the name of a SmartTrack run, but you can't change the name if you use the Exercise app.  In the case of your Workout, distance isn't included.  This shortcut is geared towards a gym or a home workout where distance isn't an important metric.  If you want that lawn mowing distance added, use the Exercise app with the Walk shortcut.

I take regular 3-5 mile walks.  But these are very familiar routes, so I always use SmartTrack.  If you looked at my screen, you'd think I'm a couch potato!

Thank you so much for your reply. I think I partially understand what you’re saying. I choose the exercise app and then the “workout” option for measuring my activity. I choose this every time now because the automatic recognition function doesn’t work sometimes. I now get it!! It’s now clear. The exercise module only measures the actual exercises I perform - not my daily accomplishments. I also now understand why it’s not picking up the distance from your explanation about the glitch Fitbit hasn’t addressed. Thank you!!
