I've had my Charge 5 for 8 months with 0 problems until yesterday when it stopped syncing with my phone and now its very slow to swipe through screens too.
I've tried restarting it, turning my Bluetooth on and off, force stopping the app, and restarting my phone. Nothing has made any difference. I'm not sure how to fix it

In addition to restarting the Bluetooth and the device, please make sure to follow all the other recommendations listed in this article to resolve syncing issues, and make sure to check the compatibility requirements listed here and to keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.
Regarding your device being too slow when swiping screens, you can also try setting up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account and you can also try changing the clock face option, then check if the issue persists.
