Sorry to see that you're having problems with your Charge 5 syncing with your app. It might have been due to low battery since you noticed the power was down to 6%.
For other recommended troubleshooting steps to try, click on this link: Why won't my Fitbit sync? You might want to try clearing the Fitbit app cache/storage if you do a Force Quit.
For what it's worth, I believe there was a user who was able to get their device to sync with the app by logging out of the app and logging back in.
For rapid loss of battery power, this is what worked for me. I restarted & recharged my Charge 5 over several days. Eventually, this process got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Hopefully, you will have a similar positive experience.
