Charge 5 not tracking sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I know that this issue has been up a lot but I feel you need to know that it has not improved. First day I was wearing it, it recorded sleep, but did not provide a sleep number (first questions to you: why?). On the second night it did not record at all. And no, I did not wear it loose, I did not sleep less than three hours.

But I did change the clock face yesterday. Is that it actually so (head scratch, head scratch) that there is a bug in the programs that could have caused that? Which clock faces do work with sleep record?

Hi, welcome to the Community forums, @finitefields

Thank you for sharing your inquiry about this problem with your Charge 5 device.

You should be able to track your sleep information with every clock face available in the Fitbit app for this device. Let me know if you continue to experience this problem only with a specific clock face.

In addition, please complete a three pulse restart procedure following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If you're still having trouble, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app, tapping on the "+" icon next to the sleep tile > Add Sleep Log and entering your details.

I'll be around.

The problem with this workaround is it won’t log REM, time awake, etc.

Welcome to the Community forums, @kv1234

Thank you for sharing that you've been having a similar problem.

Could you please provide a few more details? Let me know if you're not receiving regular sleep information or if you're specifically not receiving sleep stages. If you already tried the steps mentioned earlier, please follow the recommendations listed here below in case the problem is related to the app:

  • Make sure to keep the app updated to the latest version available
  • Log out from the Fitbit app
  • Restart your phone
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see your information
