Charge 5 not vibrating for notifications

Notifications are getting through to my charge 5 but the band does not vibrate. Vibrate is working on the band - I checked with an alarm. Alarm is set to strong. I see other users have had vibrate problems but no solution is shown here. How do I fix this.

Welcome to the Community, @paultheboat.

I've moved your post to the Charge 5 board so we can keep the forums organized. Thanks for the details and your efforts in testing the alarms. I understand your concern and just to confirm, have you tried restarting your Charge 5? If not, please give a try to the following steps and monitor its behavior afterward:?

  1. Connect your tracker to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Can confirm that I have followed the restart procedure (I had tried this previously but gave it a second go) and am still not getting a notification on my Fitbit when my phone receives a text or phone call. As stated in my original communication I do feel the vibration at the end of a countdown timer, so this indicates to me that the vibration function works sometimes. Incidentally, I also detected a vibration when the button on the charge cable was pressed.
Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.
Regards Paul

Hi there, @paultheboat.

You're welcome, thanks to you for getting back with more details as well as trying the restart process one more time. While this is odd, could you check if the DND or Sleep Mode are turned off? To check this, just swipe down from the clock screen, and tap a setting to adjust it. When you turn off a setting, the icon appears dim with a line through it.

If the issue persists after doing that, let's try setting up your notifications one more time:

  1. Forget your Charge 5 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Check if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Set up the notifications one more time.
