Charge 5 notifications and battery issues

The Charge 5 is the worst fitbit I have ever had.  It requires constant restarts to allow for notifications.  My watch battery was at 56 percent last night.  This morning, I received a critical battery alert and it is now dead.  I have it plugged in, but it is not working at all.  There is no way to restart because all I can see is a screen with dots.  Very frustrating.  I am very disappointed in this one.

Hi, OhioJen do you have any accessories like a screen cover or replaced wristband on your Fitbit? 

i had a critical battery issue alao for two days. It would not charge. I noticed that the charger connection seems unstable. 

I removed the band and the cover. Charging resumed as normal. Critical battery issue solved!
