Today I was outside and tripped over a root hidden in about 4" of water. The Charge 5 got water and some dirt on it. I immediately came in the house and cleaned off with tissue and a q-tip. I removed the strap and cleaned dirt out of the notches where the strap fastened. I noticed that it showed I had about 21% charge left so decided to charge when finished. As I finished cleaning the display quit working and I assumed that it should be charged. Attached to the charger for about an hour and the display will not come on. Any suggestions?
UPDATE This morning the screen was flashing the logo, but couldn't get any response when swiping or tapping screen. Checked the instructions for restarting while attached to charging cable & pushing button on flat end of charger 3 times within 8 seconds. No response so I waited and tried twice more and nothing!

I want to thank Fitbit support for all their effort in helping me. Went through many steps trying to get it working. After all the steps did not work it turned out my Fitbit was still under warranty and a replacement Charge 5 is on the way. The customer service is A+.

Place it in a dry place

Charge 5 has a swim tracker. It is designed to be used in the water. Rice won't help this problem.😉

I'm glad I found this. My Fitbit has this same issue. It started acting funny a few days ago and today while taking a shower, I saw it fine as normal but by the time I was done with my shower, the display went off. I have charged it and tried several things to no avail.

IDid you turn the Waterlock feature before showering? If so I'd contact user support.

The waterlock feature does not make the Charge 5 waterproof. It turns off some of the sensors because they don't work properly in the water. The device is supposed to be water resistant without activating waterlock.
