Charge 5 quit working.

The charge 5 was charged yesterday.  Today I went for a walk with it and during the walk it quit.  Now a blank screen.  One time it got their product symbol but nothing since.  Will get a red light on the back of the Fitbit.  Sometime blinks or has one steady light but goes off after a few seconds.  Unable to reach it by phone.  Tried the button push three times but it did not work.  Also cleaned the back. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.  I am starting to agree with many of the posts about switching to something, but I usually walk enough before a Fitbit quits that I build up enough points with my health company that I can get a new one for free.  Third one I have had and the third one that quit on me.

Following, the same thing happened to mine. I can't get it to charge, I can't get it to sync, I get the Fitbit logo, I get a red circle with an x through it. I'm curious what the problem is.

Looks like on my charge 5 the metal plate on the back came loose.    I am thinking that water or sweat may have gotten into it.  If anyone is having trouble with a blank screen and not charging, you may want to check the metal part in the back.

My charge 5 just started doing the same thing. I have done everything you did and more but still have the fitbit symbol sometimes and red circle with an X.  I have had to purchase a new fit every two years since 2014. One version did last 26 months. Love my Fitbit but think I need to look at other trackers .

I also just suddenly had issues with my Charge 5 screen staying black. I put it in the charger when I got home, and it came back quickly…seemed fine. But a few hours later, the same thing happened. I popped it back on the charger and did a restart. It came on…then stayed black a minute or two later. I restarted it via the charging cable this time. It’s only 18 or so months old…so frustrating!
