Charge 5 screen black

This is my second Charge 5 this year. The same thing happened to the first one.

It was working normally yesterday, it was even tracking my steps up until about 7 p.m. and I even looked at it at 8:30 p.m. Then a few hours later I lifted my arm to look at the time and the screen didn't come to life, so I tapped it and it didn't respond. I figured that it went dead and I plugged it in. The green light on the back even flickered. This morning after I got up, the first thing I did was put my watch back on, tapped the screen and nothing. I tried several times to get it to wake up but it wouldn't. So, I followed the proceedure to "restart" the watch; plugged it in, pressed the button 3 times for a second with a second in between presses. I waited 10 seconds and the Fitbit logo appeared and then went away. The watch is still unresponsive.

Is this an indication that this one is dead?

Hello @theojkett

Although I have my doubts that this will work, one other recommended troubleshooting step to try is changing the clock face. That has worked for a few users.

FWIW, some users have reported that it took multiple attempts at restarting the Charge 5 before they had success in restoring their device.

If your Charge 5 is still unresponsive after multiple attempts, the next step would be to contact Support (<-- click link) to see if you have any options under warranty.
