My screen on my fitbit stopped working  today.  I can see dim colored lines going horizontal across and when I Swipe up and down I can see lines moving but there is no data on the screen only the lines. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Fibit community, @Adam5000!

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. Please try to restart your device by closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

If this won't work for you, I would suggest contacting Fitbit support to get further assistance as your device might be defective:

Hi there, @Adam5000. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5.

If the restart suggested by @Talahthas doesn't work, try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

If none of the above works, follow Talanthas' advice and chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

Got my Charge 5 for Christmas.  Mine stopped working just over a week ago.  Thought the battery had died so I charged it. The Fitbit logo showed for about 3 seconds then nothing.  Haven’t seen any signs of life from it since. No syncing, displays, nothing!

Mine also did this exact thing around 815 am. It is charging but no screen. Even tried restarting with the charger button. Nothing. Last time this happened I had to send it away and was given a new one. Thinking about a different brand next time

I'm having this exact same issue.  The watch responds normally but the display is distorted.

There hasn't been any damage to the device that I'm aware of, just stopped working.  Interestingly, this behavior was preceded by some odd battery drain too, my battery dropped from 100% to 9% in a day, recharged to full overnight, then dropped to 24% in a few hours.

I'm having the same issue. I swapped out faces, tried a reboot with the charging cable, and I did contact support. They are going to email me with whatever hardware warranty options I have. Hopefully, I'm not out of my warranty period. 😞

One question that support did ask that might be interesting to note is what face I had and what I tried to move to. I had the "Slashed" and tried to move to the "Target".

I think the Fitbit watches are made cheaply and poor quality. My Charge 5 does the same thing and has a lot of lines like in the photos above but it is powered on and I'm sure there are numerous others out there with the same issue. Very disappointed with this watch. I'm probably going to replace the display and digitizer and move on...
