Charge 5 screen not responding / not syncing

My Charge 5 stopped responding yesterday. By that I mean the screen doesn't wake up when I tap it and it doesn't sync with my phone (an Android). I cleaned the metal charging terminals and tried restarting the Charge using the 3 button-pushes-in-seconds method. A few times the screen showed the Fitbit logo but then went dark again; now it doesn't even do that. The laser still activates when I touch it so I know it's on and has battery life. I have also tried unpairing it and disconnecting it from my app/phone. Nothing has worked. 

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue. Screen is black but it is vibrating so I know it is on. Have restarted using the button on the charging cable a few times but screen is still black. 
Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have the same issue, black screen and the tracker won't power on. I did all of the restarts and tried changing the clock face in the app but the screen is still black. The app shows 100% charge when charged but drains very fast when taken off of charger. Does anyone know if there's any other way to get the tracker to power on? I've been trying everything for about a week now and about ready to throw it away 😩

Providing an update (and thanks to those for replying to my original request for help).  I contacted customer service and after a little troubleshooting they determined there was nothing more that could be done.  They sent me a discount code for a new device (mine was out of warranty).
