Charge 5 - screen not responsive, red light

Hello,

I took off my fitbit Charge 5 a few days ago to shower (which means it has not been damaged by water because I always take it off when showering) and when I went to put it on again after showering, it wouldn't respond to touch anymore. It stayed black.

I have tried restarting the device with the button on the cable. It vibrates, momentarily, turns on (I see the blue Fitbit logo) and then it's back to a black screen.

I have seen that some people change their clock face from the app to solve the problem, but I sadly can't try that, because I had the (bad) idea of "forgetting" my Fitbit device from my app before I had the chance to try other method. And now my app can't find my device anymore when I try to sync it back. So I can't do anything from my phone/Fitbit app.

There's a little red light at the back of the device too, if that's an indicator of anything.

It was bought for me as a gift less than a year ago.

I wonder if there's anything else I can do about it / to save it.

This just happened to me today! I chatted with support and they sent me a label in email to return and then they will send me a new one. 2nd charge 5 in 1 year....

I absolutely love my fitbit, but I may have to switch. This is ridiculous!

Glad yours was at least under warranty. My last one was only 30% off. This
is my last one. When it dies, I’m moving on to something else. I’m on my
4th Charge 5. Good luck. 👍

I am having the same issue too. Have put a new clock face on and this seemed to work but now it is constantly flashing red

The same thing is happening to my Fitbit Charge 5. One year old. Won’t turn on, won’t sync, firmware won’t update. Can’t change the clock face. Really disappointed

Same thing happened to me, I guess fitbit has been doomed the second they got acquired by Google.

I wish there was a solution for the three unresponsive fitbits that I have.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your reports about this.

We need to complete every step before moving on, so please try the ones that are suggested above if you haven't already. Some of you who have previously contacted our support staff and were successful in getting your device replaced. As the amount of assistance we can offer you in these forums is limited, this is actually my greatest recommendation.

You can contact them using any of our official lines by clicking here

I am having the same issue, This is the 2nd one I have had problems with. The 1st one I just bought a replacement but that is getting expensive.

I am reqlly disappointed by fitbit. Within two years the charge 5 is having battery issue. My electric scooter battery is more realible than fitbit charge 5. My suggestion to move to someother brand. My purchase was completely waste of money.
