When I go swimming, I can choose a goal. This is always the amount of minutes I would like to swim. Can I change this to distance?

Thanks for the help.

Hi, welcome to the Community forums, @WendyLecomte.

Thank you for sharing your inquiry regarding the goals for the swimming activity on the Charge 5.

I noticed this is an option for other workout options and you're able to set up a distance goal, but it's not available with the swimming exercise shortcut.

I would recommend that you post this idea in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since this section is regularly monitored by the team of developers. Make sure to post your idea including as many details as possible so other users can vote for it.

See you around.

I took my charge 5 for a swim and it killed it.  Fitbit says I shouldn’t have used it for swimming.
they are sending me a new one under warranty.
is it swim proof or not?  I am so confused.

I use my fitbit for swimming and so far, no problems yet! I don't understand why this should not be possible. The option swimming is available...

Strange! I hope you get a new one!

Hi,

Since the Charge 5 has a SWIM TRACKER, it is baffling that support told you that you should not swim with it. 🙄

My daughter, son in law and I swim with ours several times a week and have not had any problems. Unfortunately, it is still impossible to display the lap count on the watch. You can only see it when you are done on your phone.

@jg64 @SunsetRunner Thanks for sharing that you experienced this inconvenience with your Fitbit device.

The Charge 5 is is indeed water resistant to 50 meters and you should be able to use it to track your swim sessions without any problem. Thanks for confirming that you already got in touch with the Customer Support team. In this case, I recommend that you continue the communication with them so they can let you know how to proceed.

@Surfista Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and your experience with the device as well.

See you around.

I've used my charge 5 quite frequently in the pool and even in the ocean a couple of times without any issues until a couple of days ago the watch face completely detached from the base of the watch killing it. I contacted support and they offered me a 35% discount off the purchase since my watches warranty expired a couple of months ago. This is definitely a manufacturing or design defect and offering 35% isn't satisfactory in my opinion.

I tried escalating this with support but no luck. The support advocate I chatted with was very nice and professional but told me that he can't offer more than the 35% discount coupon. I then asked if someone can help and he said "No, no one is allowed to offer more than a 35% coupon". I guess this is a Fitbit policy because of the poor quality of their products. I looked at when I purchased my Fitbit and it was in early April of last year. So I've had it for about fifteen months. I don't know if other people have had their Charge 5 as long as I have but be careful if you're using it as advertised. It was on my wrist 24/7, except for charging and showering. I took it to the beach, the pool, and everywhere else. I'm disappointed because I loved my Fitbit and because they couldn't do anything more for me. Good-bye Fitbit.

@SunsetRunner Thank you for sharing your experience with the Support.

I'm sorry to see that it wasn't possible to resolve the problem or to receive a replacement due to warranty limitations. Please know that your feedback is greatly appreciated and the team continues to work to improve the quality of products and services.
