HR Not displayed during Running or Biking workouts

Please help me find this answer.  Trying to live with this Fitbit Charge 5, but one big issue for me is that during my runs or bike-rides, which are outdoors my Fitbit does not display my HR.  I've tried swiping up/down, but it does not display my current HR.  It seems to be measuring it fine, so when I get home and synch my workout it displays my HR graph for the workout, but DURING my workout, I want to take a quick glance at the device and see my current HR. There must be a way to include HR on that workout display as I can't imagine anyone serious about their workouts not wanting this ability.  And I'm NOT talking about the HIGHLY annoying AZM notifications telling you you're now in fat burn, or now in cardio.  Thanks for your help!

So, today for the 3rd time in the month I've owned and used this Charge 5, the GPS could not lock and shuts off. Clear sky, no obstructions.  I restarted the Fitbit, hoping this might resolve the issue but still would not lock.  Battery was at 95% so NOT a battery issue. Also, when you're in a workout--one you've started, why is there no option to discard it?!?  As I was trying to get the GPS to lock, I started several workouts that I did not want to save, but could not discard.  This thing is NOT nearly as good as my old Garmin Vivosport, but it's now the ONLY tracker that has built in GPS and is NOT a smart watch.  I want a full function fitness band and now this is my only option.

Hello & welcome @DAPRUITT

To see your heart rate during a workout, tap on the display/screen to cycle through the various metrics that your Charge 5 is tracking. To confirm a run shows heart rate, I started a run and saw my heart rate display when I tapped on the screen 2 times. We get so to used to swiping, we tend to use that motion rather than tapping on the screen.

I agree with you that it would be nice to be able to discard a workout from the Charge 5. Currently, our only option to discard a practice/test workout is through the Fitbit app.

  • From the Today page in the app, tap on the Exercise tile.
  • Tap on the practice/test workout that you want to delete
  • Tap on the 3 stacked dots in the upper right
  • Tap on Delete to remove the test workout

Let us know how else we can help.
