I bought my Charge 5 in August 2022. Four times in the past two weeks, including twice today, the screen goes black and the device is unresponsive. If I connect it to the charging cable, the logo appears, as if it's been restarted. Today, the black screen happened early afternoon while I was out. I got it restarted around 4:15pm and within 3 hours it had gone again.
Has anyone else encountered this behaviour? Any suggestions what might be causing it?
Thanks in anticipation,
Chris

I also encountered this issue. in my case, it has been happening for quite sometime now and I bought the product last 2021. I've already contacted their tech support but unfortunately, he said there's nothing they could about it. Really bad product and service. I don't think I'm going to buy another fitbit product again.

Facing the same issue. Seems to be a common issue.. Battery shows 50+ before leaving the house, but is dead by the time you get back. Tapping the screen won't turn it on. Plug it into the charger and it will show 60%! On other occasions, while charging, it will show the percentage stuck at, let's say, 45%. And then if you restart it, it will show 70+. Started happening after the 2 year period ended. Seems to be a pattern..

UPDATE 21 July 2025
The behaviour got worse. Happened 5 times in a 24 hour period just after my initial post in this thread. And, similar to @MonishB., the displayed battery percentage began to be erratic and meaningless. I've now disposed of the Charge 5 (my local electronic waste recycling point) and passed the charging cable and watch straps to my preferred charity shop.
I've bought a new smart watch - and it's not a Fitbit.
