Charge 5 steps on device lower than app

The steps showing on my device are showing as around 5,000 less than my app. It’s like my device hasn’t picked up my steps properly but has registered them on the app. I would say the app is more accurate as I went a 47 min walk earlier. I have no app updates, have restarted the device, reset my Bluetooth and disconnected and reconnected the device. Anyone else having similar issues?

A warm welcome to the forums @LauraMS

Thank you for providing the details regarding your Charge 5 and for trying to fix it on your own.

Please confirm if you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. If that is your case, Mobile track will add the steps recorded by your phone to the Fitbit app. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account.  On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".
