Charge 5 stopped charging

I've had my Charge 5 for less than a year and a half and last week it stopped holding a charge. I tried pushing the button on the charge cord. It restarted, but didn't solve the issue. I previously had a Charge 2 for 4 years,  but less than a year and a half isn't acceptable in my book. Any thoughts?

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @SunsetRunner.

Thank you for all the details provided about your Charge 5 and the problem with the battery.

In addition to the steps @Julia_G mentioned earlier to properly charge the device, it is recommended to follow the recommendations listed in this article to improve or extend battery life in general, in case your Charge 5 is not holding a charge. Let us know if the issue persists.

Keep in mind there are a few features that would make the battery drain faster than usual, even in one day. Some of these features are:

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 days when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature).
  • Tracking SpO2 (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).
