Charge 5 stopped displaying data

When I called support, the person I spoke with said "there's nothing we can do if the display stopped working." Well, it's not that it stopped working, because it shows the Fitbit logo just fine when I do the restart procedure. It just stopped displaying my data which tells me this is a firmware issue. It still syncs to my tablet.

Telling me to "throw it out and buy a new one" is just unacceptable, even with a 50% discount. E-waste is a real thing and it's caused by unethical companies like Fibit/Google who create crappy products that fail after 15 months. I guess my Charge 5 is headed to a Chinese landfill. Meanwhile, my wife's Apple Watch is 4 years old and works flawlessly.

Trust me, I didn't post here expecting a solution. I posted to add my voice to the growing throng of dissatisfied and disappointed Fitbit customers.

I called again and the Support Team said my only choice is to buy a new device.

My advice to others; don't bother calling Support. It's not worth the pain of listening to that god-awful hold music.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 has stopped working. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with your Charge 5 and also want to find a resolution to your issue, my best advice is to keep the conversation with our Support Team. Note for this kind of inquiries/cases/process, there's not so much we here in the forums can do for you as this is something that our team handles based on our policies. Thanks in advance!
