This is a terrible product; and if you are buying it to be waterproof I would keep looking. I bought this product a in March 2022, and never got it wet or took it swimming. Two weeks ago I was out and got caught in a rain storm (not even that bad), the Fitbit stopped working under 5hrs. And now since it’s been over a year they won’t replace this product. Never will I buy from them again

Hi, @ThatOneGuy84 , it is true that the water resistance (no device is waterproof - water is pretty strong stuff! - and no one is allowed to claim any device is) does wear off over time, due to contamination with sunscreen, weather, and even natural skin oils, which I guess is why Customer Service is not accepting this as a warranty issue if the device is more than a year old and outside warranty…
But it may be that we can get your Fitbit going again for you! First, if you suspect your Fitbit got wet inside, it can help to put it in a bag of uncooked rice for 24-48 hours (at least). I would also say that although you think it was the rain storm, it is possible that that is a coincidence. Generally I don’t recommend folks plug in their Fitbits to charge if there is a question that they might be wet, so I would definitely recommend the rice treatment first. But once you are confident that it is dry, I would definitely try charging your Fitbit for a good two hours and then giving it a restart . If the first restart doesn’t seem to have effect, it is worth trying it a couple of times more. You could also try a changing the clock face, which sometimes solves a blank screen issue. The instructions are here .
Good luck and let us know if you have any success. Welcome to the Fitbit forums!
