Have had this just over a year. Battery died out of the blue yesterday. Tried all the suggested fixes. This is the shortest lived Fitbit product I've had. Others have lasted multiple years. This one just died out of the blue. I'm DONE. Will not buy another one. The quality just isn't there any longer. Good by Google Fitbit.

Hi there, @leswill315. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not responding. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, please note that sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working. Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.
When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.
If the above doesn't work, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I tried multiple times to charge it even though it was not in need of charging when it went dead. It started charging but as soon as I took the unit off the charger the battery level returned to 0. While still on the charger the unit appeared to be charging and each time was supposed to be at 60+ percent. Whenever I charged the battery I always left it charging until it was at 100%. It often stopped at 99 and took quite a while to kick up to 100. I always waited. this is just a bad unit and I am done. I don't have money to throw away on products that do not last.
