Have tried every suggestion recommended to resuscitate my charge 5 however I don't think there is any life left this one. Certainly hasn't been my favourite Fitbit with lots of issues. I dug out my Fitbit 4 and 2 and they both started up without an issue after being in the dark for 2 years.

Hi, @Mac1953 welcome, it's a sad fact that small-form wearable batteries have a limited number of charge/recharge cycles before they degrade. You do not mention how old your Charge 5 is but I assume from your comment more than two years. If this is not the case you might like to review What's Fitbit's return and warranty policy? - Fitbit Help Center Your location will have an impact on the length of their warranty.
I hope this is helpful.
Cheers
