Charge 5 stops working during a run

Fitbit….please help. I’ve used Fitbit devices for several years now. I recently bought the Charge 5 and twice now it stops working during a run outside. I think it’s due to my long sleeves accidentally hitting the screen and stopping the run. Has anyone else had this happened? So annoying. It’s getting cold here and long sleeves are required. I never had this happen on my previous devices. Please help me fix this.

Hello @Johnsoncj2002 ,

Yes, this issue has affected a few people too.  Here is a link to a thread to the discussion which includes an impressive video showing it in action.

Sleeve Interacting with Screen

The only really simple solution right now seems to be switching Screen Wake to Manual, as it would require a double-tap that a shirt would find harder to do.

I hope you can find something that works for you. If you can bear to double-tap to wake your screen during a run, it may well help to switch to Manual.

Good luck!

Thanks. I didn’t find that post but that’s exactly the issue. I should’ve mentioned that I did have the screen set to manual mode. It still ended my run. Bummer. I hope they fix this.
