Charge 5 stuck on Fitbit logo

Hello,

My Fitbit Charge 5 has a blank screen. I did the 3 button presses reset a few times yesterday and it looked like it was restarting (Fitbit logo showed) but then it went back to a blank screen. It’s been on charge overnight but still nothing. If I press the button on the charging cable I can feel the Fitbit vibrate and it vibrates when I connect it to charging cable.

Any thoughts on what May fix this please?

the only other thing I should mention is that I first noticed the blank screen a while after swimming but I have often swam with my Fitbit on so I don’t think could be related.

Thanks.

Paul

Hi, @Paulandedna , if trying the restart procedure several times hasn’t fixed this issue for you, the next step is to try changing the clock face on your Charge 5.  You can do this in the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet.  Instructions are here .  If that solves the issue you can change back to the previous clock face if preferred.

In case there are issues charging your Fitbit you may want to have a look at this help article that offers troubling shooting tips if for a Fitbit that isn’t charging .  It sounds like it is charging properly, but it might be worth having a look…

You mention that you swim with your Fitbit, which should be fine.  However, in case you ever notice that your Fitbit seems to have water inside (it is possible for environmental factors to affect the water resistance over time - for example exposure to sun creams, sweat, extensive sunlight, etc. ) the best advice is not to try to charge your Fitbit until it has completely dried out.  Putting the Fitbit in a bag of uncooked rice will help to dry it out.

But try the clock change first.  Hopefully that will fix it for you.  Welcome to the forums!

Hello,

Thanks for responding and for the info (especially for including useful URLs).

I’ve tried changing the clock face in the app but it cannot connect to the Fitbit.

thanks.

Hello,

I think I’ve fixed it 😀

one of the links from julie_g was to reasons why the Fitbit won’t charge and being wet was a possible reason.

I think my Fitbit battery was low and then it was wet from swimming so wouldn’t charge.

it’s had today to dry out and is now charging. I think the lesson here is always make sure your Fitbit has a good amount of charge before swimming.

thanks julie_g for helping.

Hello.

I spoke to soon 😢

The Fitbit screen is not as bright as before, I can’t swipe to any other screens and a fully charged battery only lasts about an hour.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Paul

Hello,

battery life still about an hour and I still can’t swipe between screens.

I contacted Fitbit support (via the Twitter link) and received great support, great response times, great questions and just all round brilliant customer service.

New Fitbit on its way.

Thanks.
