Charge 5 suddenly less sensitive

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit is about 4 months old. I swim for 60 minutes most mornings. Just this week fitbit started to miss swim workout. Then last night fitbit started to miss sleep. Overall it just seems to have lost its sensitivity. Not sure why or if it is fixable. Help?

Hello @Kimphilpott123

I would suggest as a first step to restart your Fitbit Charge 5, maybe it will solve the issue. To do this, plug the Charge 5.

Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Hi SebWotan thanks for the advice. Did a Restart and it helped with the sleep tracking which came back right away.   Automatic recording of swim still not working. Any other suggestions to get swim tracking function back?

Hello @Kimphilpott123

Sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering 2 things about swimming.  Have you checked that it's still switched on for Auto-Recognition in the App on your phone?  It might have switched off/changed, so it's worth a quick check.

Also, have you thought about adding Swim as an Exercise Shortcut on your tracker?  That way you can control it more and start and stop it to match your actual swimming times (if you practice using and unlocking the Water Lock function).

I don't know if you've tried it before but you can add or delete Exercise Shortcuts from the App on your phone.  From the Today Screen, tap your profile picture, then Charge 5. Tap Exercise Shortcuts and swipe left to delete one you don't need.  Then from +Exercise Shortcut select Swim.  Sync your Charge 5 and it should turn up as a Shortcut on your tracker.  When you're ready to swim, press Start and at the end, Stop.

Turning off the Swim Lock can be a challenge for some people so it's definitely worth practicing before you need to use it.

I hope that helps a bit.
