Charge 5 suddenly stopped working

Yesterday, my 6 month old charge 5 suddenly stopped working.  The battery went from 87% to 0%.  When I tried to charge it, I got an error "not charging".  I left it plugged in overnight, this morning the battery said 100%.  However, when I put it on, it did not register any steps.  Within 15 minutes, the battery dropped to 15%.  The light on the back of the charge 5 stays on bright green (not blinking)

Usually I get a year out of the fitbit before it breaks - this one was barely 6 months!

Hi, @123Wendy123 , it is worth trying a restart - instructions here .  Please repeat this twice more if a single restart does not work.  In addition, please try toggling the HR sensor off, waiting a moment, and then toggling it back on again (on the Charge 5 swipe down until you come to the settings menu then swipe up to find the ON/OFF HR setting)

 

If after 3 restarts and switching the HR off and then on, you are still seeing no change - particularly if the green light on the back continues to be solidly on (rather than flashing) - your best bet is to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.Fitbit.com.  They will help get you back stepping again.  Be sure to tell them the troubleshooting steps you have already tried as that will save time.
