Charge 5 tracked steps while sleeping

When i woke i noticed i got an instant 10k steps alert, Odd I thought. went about my long day.

Had not checked until tonight and noticed i had over 55,000 steps and then later on after 8pm over 60,000 steps. So i looked back on the app and it showed i got 49,000 steps at 2am. Yet i was asleep at 113-pm the night before? Yet the mileage shows 5.3 miles. This is an odd glitch. will it fix itself?

What is wrong? What can i fix? its already latest firmware. and now this fake number is changing my averages. Can i edt the steps to correct this mistake. I usually get10-20k steps a day?

Welcome to the Community Forums, @fitebite2022.

I've moved your post to the Charge 5 board to keep the forums organized. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I understand your point of view and I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. To look into this, may I know if you have MobileTrack installed on the Fitbit app? This feature allows you to record basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors. That being said, if there was a fan or something vibrating nearby, that might be the reason why you receive an incorrect amount of steps.

Assuming this is correct, I'd recommend removing it by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
For iOS devices, scroll down and tap the option to remove the device.
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. Continue using your Charge 5 and let me know how it goes.

About your other question, while it's not possible to delete steps that have already synced, you can log a non-step-based activity such as driving to override those steps.
