I'm in the exact same position as you are. My charge 5 is the second replacement I have received. In 2023 I got a replacement pepple due 2 clip for keeping strap in broke off, and same happened again this year around same time. But anyways it was working fine until over 10days ago. Where the Charge 5 was not showing my Km distance but was showing on the app. I contacted fitbit deveral tyms to be fobbed off by saying its a GPS issue and do all the trouble shooting to no avail. I told them it wasn't a GPS issue as the km distance shows on my Charge 5 after a GPS tracked run or walk but not my total daily kms like it did before. Which is very disappointing 😞 I contacted them again on Thursday as was told that it was escalated and the higher tier would get back to me within 24 - 48 hrs which didn't happen. They went through everything again and then told me to update app and device but there isn't an update for either of them. They told me there would be by the 20th November. Anyways after that on thur night I googled it and came across a forum that mentioned about automatic stride length the person had same issue with distance km / miles not showing on their fitbit charge 5 and so they turned off the automatic stride length and ot worked the distance is showing on the charge 5 now. I tried it and it worked on Fri and Sat I did try turning it back on again it did work for a little wile but stopped as didn't match what the app said 🙈
It's so hard to know what to do. Stick wit fitbit or change to garmin
