Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that your Charge 5 is only waterproof for the warranty period. After that it will probably die like mine did and you are just offered a discount on a new one.

Hi everyone, thank you for all the information and feedback provided about swimming with your Charge 5.
As some of you mentioned earlier, you should be able to swim with your Charge 5 device, since it's water resistant to 50 meters. You can find more information about this here. If you experienced any problem with the device not responding after swimming, please make sure to get in touch with the Customer Support team here or continue the communication with them if you already have a case created with them.
It is particularly difficult when the device is no longer covered by the warranty, but even tough Support is eager to help with any problem you may experience with the product, they do need to adhere to the official warranty policy, this would start counting from the original date of purchase.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the quality; comments from users are always useful to continue improving the quality of products and services.
Just learned this the hard way too... Forgot to take off my Fitbit Charger 5 before jumping into the pool and the device just died.... I bought in Feb 2022 and, obviously, it's out of warranty now. Got a 35% discount code to buy a new one..
The manual also gives instructions on swimming with it and showering with it. Presumably, it's meant to handle getting wet without suffering permanent damage, right? Or am I misinterpreting something?
It also has a setting to track your swim, so I assume that means you can swim with it. If it can't handle that, they shouldn't have a setting for swimming..
Hi, Mine Charge 4 was broken in the warranty period and replaced by a Charge 5 (Charge 4 was taken out of the collection because of this construction failure).
The Charge 5 I recieved in october last year, was working fine until I forgot to take it of when swimming in a pool (perhaps 1,5 mtr deep). Now it is completly dead. They gave only the warrant time of the Charge 4.
Fitbit clearly has no confidence in their own products.
