I have followed all the directions to charge my Charge 5 watch with no success. I have gone thru the procedures outlined numerous times, no success. Watch is a gift and only 6 months old!

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Zebra__10.

I appreciate all this information that you've shared about the inconvenience that you've been having with your Charge 5.

Could you please provide a few more details about this issue? Let me know how long is your battery lasting and if you're using any feature that may drain the battery fasten than usual. If possible, please let us know what are the steps that you already tried and that were not successful.

The battery can last up to 7 days; because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary. Some of the feature that can drain the battery more rapidly are:

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 day when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature).
  • Using an SpO2 clock face (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article. In addition, try to perform a restart following the steps listed here below:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
  4. If the device doesn’t restart, wait 15 seconds to try again.

I'll be around.
