Charge 5 won't charge anymore

Hi Fitbit Community,

I read a lot of people have a similar issue with Charge 5. It happened to me several times. I was wondering whether you have noticed a pattern in the failures you've experienced. In my experience, it fails when Fitbit Premium period expires, and I refuse to renew it. Is this a similar experience or am I that unique and happened to me five times? This time around it failed a week before the expiration date as I terminated the Fitbit Premium subscription a week before the deadline and customer support is saying that I need to prove that I bought it from a certified reseller to get any support on the device. I hope the community has a better solution than this absurd response.
