Hi there, @Yosay. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is not charging anymore. Thanks for trying to solve the issue before posting here, I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

Sometimes a Fitbit doesn’t seem to be charging when actually the issue is that it has become unresponsive (this can happen if the battery has been allowed to discharge completely, like in your case). I'd recommend putting it on to charge on a charging wire and outlet known to be working.  Leave it on the charger for a good two hours, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging.

When it has had two hours, try restarting your Charge 5. I would recommend trying this maybe twice in a row if a first try doesn’t work.

Hope that helps.

I'm having the same trouble. My fitbit won't charge, it stays at 1% and doesn't charge or die completely. I had my charger tested by an electrician and it seems to be working. The watch was fine two days ago. I've tried leaving it on the charger overnight, and it says it's charging but stays at 1%. Then the screen randomly says to "put device on charger". I did not receive a battery low email until the watch was basically dead so I didn't realize it was happening right away. It won't re-start at all, I've tried that as well. I love my fitbit so I'm sad about this new turn of events. Not sure what else to try...

I’m having the same problem as Yosay and justanothergirl. Starting yesterday the charger seems not to charge.

I’ve cleaned the contacts even though they looked good, and I’ve restarted my Fitbit. I’ve also pressed the button on the charger 3 times. When I connect to the charger, it doesn’t start charging, but if I leave it there it later says it’s charging but the battery level does not go up. Sometimes it gives me a message that it’s not charging due charger output. I’ve tried different USB outputs that all work with other devices, but with the same result.

Has there been some sort of update/change behind the scene that has triggered this?

Right, that’s exactly the same as what I have. I am trying to charge since 5 days. I tried everything, I can’t believe there will come a solution for this. I am so disappointed. It seems the only solution is to throw this one away and buy a new one?

Thanks! The support team was very helpful with getting a new device shipped out to me as mine was still under warranty. Just hope this doesn't happen with the new watch, as this seems to be happening to quite a few people and there is no clear answer as to why.
