I received a notification that my fitbit battery was low yesterday. I plugged it in yesterday and today the watch is dead. It won't charge, can't be connected to and will not display anything. I've tried reseating the charger, but does nothing.

Hi there, @davidrana. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Charge 5 is not charging anymore despite the steps you've tried already.
In addition to the steps you've done so far, I'd recommend following the tips and recommendations provided in this help article Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Mine won’t charge either and at the same time I’m getting nearly daily ads to buy a new one. 🤔

I have the same problem, I have tried resetting the charge 5 and cleaned the charger and watch to no avail.

Same thing happened to me. It was flat 5 hours after being fully charged. I was happy to find it was only 9months into the warranty so I got a replacement. Only problem is I now can’t connect the new one!

Not helpful at all.
What we need is a FIX.
NOT a link to something we've most likely already tried.
How is it possible for a CHARGER to DRAIN the battery of the device it's meant to be charging, and most importantly why?

I likewise had a "Critical Battery Warning" upon an attempt to charge my Charge 5. Although my Fitbit was within a year of purchase, Fitbit Support refuses to honor their one-year warranty. The fact remains that I have had two Fitbits and both have failed within a year of purchase. What has your experience been with Fitbit?

I hope you can get a replacement under warranty!

I was missing the icon on top left of Fitbit app to add the new device. Hope you can get it going 😊

That’s surprising they won’t honour warranty. I had a fb charge for which the charger failed on and I got a replacement charger under warranty for that. Then my fb charge 5 suddenly failed to hold its charge and I got one under that warranty too. I did buy an additional 3 year warranty on the replacement cos I don’t trust it not to happen again though!! Hope you get some help! I managed to sort my set up problem- it was user error ☹️

Hi @MarreFitbit ,
I've tried everything in the article you shared with me and nothing is working.
I bought the charge 5 in August 2023 from fitbit, what are my options at this point?

I am having a similar issue. I purchased my second charge in June 2023 and it all of the sudden stopped working and will only turn on when connected to the charger. Once I disconnect it goes to zero and then dies. I spoke in the chat support and they said all o had to do was show proof of purchase for replacement. I did and now they say I’m not within warranty which I’m clueless than a year. Every other Fitbit I’ve had has died within days of the 2 year mark and not been returnable. For the money I’m done since this seems to be a disposable product.

I am having the exact same issue. I got the charge 5 for Christmas 2022, and Christmas 2023 it stopped working. I have a black screen and when plugged up, the charging icon no longer displays! This is my 1st fitbit and now I feel lost without it! 😢 I really hope there's a fix for this!

I'm having similar issues, and now the screen on my Fitbit won't work. It just shows multilple horizontal lines. I got this for Christmast 2022 so it's out of warranty. This is the 2nd one I've had that died in just over a year and I'm probably not going to buy another one.

I purchased my Fitbit Charge 5 in March 2023 at Best Buy, and I've been facing a severe battery problem. Since 12/31/2023, the device doesn't respond after completely draining the battery. Even when charged to 100%, it drops to 4% upon disconnecting, and the screen goes off quickly. I've tried restarts and have yet to be successful. The device is within the 1-year warranty, and I've subscribed to FitBit Premium, but I can't enjoy it due to this recurring issue. No settings were changed, and the Charge 5 hasn't suffered physical damage. I would really appreciate some guidance on how to fix this issue and bring back the functionality of the Charge 5, hoping for a solution that benefits everyone. Thank you!

I've had the same issue since the update if anyone's had any luck on a solution? I've tried different outlets, different chargers, restarting. Nothing helps it to actually charge
