Charge 5 won’t charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 5 wouldn’t charge and went down to 0% battery for about a day. I’ve tried using multiple usb ports. I cleaned the contacts and now it seems to be properly connected to the charger, but the battery is still 0% and it vibrates about every 1 minute. I tried restarting it by pushing the button three times. It vibrated and briefly showed Fitbit logo, but battery still won’t charge. How can I get it to charge?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @CoachNancy!

Sad to hear that you're having an issue charging your Charge 5. Thanks for having spent the time to get things fixed by yourself. As you seem to have followed all troubleshooting tips mentioned here without success, I'd assume there's something wrong with either your device or it's charging cable. Thus I recommend contacting Fitbit support for further support:

I have exactly the same problem. did you update in a short time ago? because since last Saturday I have exactly the same problem. the solutions mentioned don't seem to work either

Best Answer

@Talahthas , my experience with fitbit support has been terrible, no help, no  troubleshooting, they just offered me a discount.

do you have any update on this? I have exact same problem with you...

Best Answer

No. Sadly not at the moment.

This is the 3rd fitbit in my family to have given up after 1 year of warranty period. And I am having the same issue you described with my charg-5. Looks like google/fitbit have pushed an update to brick all the 1 year old devices so they wont have to cover it.

Best Answer

@Rainy1302I believe there is not going to be any updates, with my experience with customer support, they are giving 50% discount on your next charge watch.
when I called there was not help or support. just offered me a discount. to me it seems that someone at Fitbit is sabotaging  the merge with google. I would like to get more information from Fitbit but I have not been able to get any information

Best Answer

thanks for your reply. they just got back to me and let me choose between 2 options: replacement of the same model or 50% discount. I chose the replacement for now...

Best Answer

@Gappel , dont hold you breath. if you watch is  less than a year old, ask for a replacement right away, if older and you want to waste your money on a new fitbit, ask for the 50% discount to get one

Best Answer

@Rainy1302 does it come with a new warranty?

how old is your charge5?

Best Answer

I'm not sure if it will come with a new warranty or not. Just sent an email to ask about that.

I purchased my Charge5 around July 30th so it is around 3-month-old.

Hi,

They just replied me as below

"The warranty started the day you bought your original Charge 5 and the replacement we sent does not have a new warranty since we sent it responding to the warranty of the original product. You can check more here: https://www.fitbit.com/global/uk/legal/previous-terms/warranty-07172020.

I purchased my Charge5 around April 26th so it is around 6/7month-old. I'm curious to see what they come up with.

I have reported it for repair. we will see.

I'm having the same problem. I place it on the charger, it looks like it starts to charge and I come back later and it has not charged or even discharged.
