My charge 5 shows 13% of battery and I put it on charge but it simply does not charge. I have cleaned both the watch and charger. Tried different plugs and reset the device but all to no avail. The battery has been depleting quicker than usual recently. What can I do? Thanks

Exact same problem. Put it on the charger last night and apparently it died immediately. Called fitbit/google this morning and went thru the steps to no avail. They sent me a 50%off code for a new tracker. They now offer only the Charge 6 at $160. Im sad and annoyed that this seems like a planned attack given the sudden numerous charge 5 shutdowns.

My charge 5 went completely erratic with its charging & battery power and afterwards I went through all the checks with Fitbit/Google support but the charge 5 by then had completely died. (As requested, I'd not long changed over to my Fitbit/Google email login.)
I had actually reported an issue previously when the charge 5 had been powered up to 100% and shortly afterwards it dropped to about 40%, that was in fact when it was still within its warranty period. At that time the answer from Fitbit was to allocate me a fault code and inform me to get back in touch with them if it ever happened again.
Although I never quite detected that major power drop again, there were many times that the charge 5 was unresponsive e.g. not showing a time when requested etc.
After the failure of my charge 5, Fitbit/Google support informed me that it was unfortunately out-with its warranty period but they were going to do something very special for me, so supplied me Google email providing a 35% discount on another of my choice, only obtainable/usable via their Google Stores.
The battery time on my fully charged charge 5 was initially quite good and of all the others I've viewed, its design is certainly one of the neater ones but with its out-with warranty failures not being addressed properly when they first show, its perhaps time to try something completely different?
In contact with my son recently, he also tells me that the exact same thing has happened to his charge 5 and in his case he had obtained that one as a replacement (under warranty) when his original proved not to be waterproof.
