My fit bit will only charge to 45% why?

It's hard to say why your device is charging to 45% without some additional information.

• How long have you had your Charge 5?
• What kind of charging brick are you using to charge your Fitbit?
• Have you tried using a different charging brick or different electrical sockets?

Have you had a chance to restart your Charge 5, either from the Settings menu on the device or by using the charging cable that came with your device? That's the first troubleshooting step to try.
