Charge 5 won't hold a charge

In the last few days I have found my fitbit charger 5 is rapid losing it's battery life. Charging it till 100% 3 times a day.  Why should this suddenly happen?

As a first approach, I'd recommend making sure that your phone's software version is updated. For more information, refer to Check & update your Android version or Update your iPhone or iPad

Sorry, I have tried the suggested checks and updates. Nothing seems to need changing but my Fitbit battery charge is just depleting. 

Also, my Fitbit has a solid, constant green light on the back of the pebble this is very different to previously were I had a dim pulsing green light.

I hope you can resolve this quickly. Lately my battery % shows it low & but when I plug it into the charger it'll say 85% & its driving me crazy.
