Hi. My Charge 5 will NOT hold a charge. I've seen multiple posts on this subject with no resolution. From reading the posts reporting this issue, it would appear that FitBit caused this by pushing through a faulty upgrade. How can I back this out? I bought this during a Black Friday event what are my options?

Hi there, @nikkimor. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 isn't holding a charge anymore. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this.
Please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%. Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning). For more tips and recommendations, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Hi Marre,
I am having a similar issue to this user. Suddenly last Wednesday, my Fitbit began draining charge extremely fast. Prior to Wednesday/Thursday of last week, I was holding charge for 7-10 days.
My Fitbit was charged all day and night yesterday (probably 16 to 20 hours total). I put it on this morning at 8:30AM. It is now 12:04 and my Fitbit is on 64%. It’s actually gone down 2% while typing this reply.
This is unacceptable. If the device battery will deteriorate after less than a year, this is a faulty product that needs to be addressed by your company. If it is a bad software update then this also needs to be addressed instead of telling your customers to charge their device more frequently. This is not what the product promised at the time of purchase.
