Charge 5 won't hold charge

My charge 5 has recently (in the past few days) stopped being able to hold charge. For the past week or so the battery was draining super fast (I needed to charge every day to keep it from dying), but now it won't hold charge at all. I plug it in to charge and it will reach 99% battery, but as soon as I unplug the watch it shuts off and shows the Fitbit logo, and when I tap the screen it says my watch has 1%. I'm not sure what's happening or what has changed as this problem didn't exist even 2 weeks ago. I have had my watch a little over a year.

When I contacted support, they said that from their end they could see that the always on display was turned on, which it was not. (I checked in my watch settings, the switch was clearly turned off.) They advised that I restart the watch, but that did not fix the battery problem. I'm not sure what to do.

Hello & welcome @Jeanncc

When my Charge 5 experienced rapid battery drop, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. This process eventually got my Charge 5 "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Hopefully, you will have a similar positive experience.

Recently, a couple of users found that turning off SpO2 helped with reducing the battery drain on their Charge 5. One user also uninstalled ECG and EDA, which seemed helped reduce battery drain even more. This tip might help you.
