I have tried to reset my Fitbit by plugging in the charger and pressing the button 3 times and waiting but nothing happens and I don’t get the Fitbit logo

Hi there, @SianK70. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Charge 5. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue before reaching out. I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work, please try the following:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately this is happening to a large number of Charge 5s, probably planned obsolescence.

You can message support and they can tell you to buy yourself a new one, they'll even give you a small discount

My Fitbit Charge 5 started draining in a matter of hours yesterday and then died.  Could not get it going again after following all of the instruction above.  Bought through Amazon and since it dies 32 days after purchase could only get a 80% refund.   That took some planning!!!! I loved my Charge 2, seems like quality is no more......
